Swamp Spider Lily

A Native Beauty!

Swamp Spider Lily is a U.S. native plant that naturally grows in wet areas, specifically around rivers and wetlands. The foliage is rather insignificant, small strap shaped and grass green, allowing it to go rather unnoticed to many. However once this plant begins blooming it is a show stealer! Medium to large white flowers  bloom in clusters of 2 to 4 per plant, and last about 1 to 2 days before being replaced. hummingbirds and larger butterflies favor the flowers on this native.

In gardens, it makes a nice water plant for bogs, ponds, and water gardens. alternatively, it can be grown in a container garden with consistently moist soil. This plant does not like to dry out, especially when flowering. The bulbs can survive outside in Zone 8, and multiply each year.
