Although not a true cactus, the African Milk Cactus (Euphorbia trigona 'Rubra') is a favorite for us at Fig Field Farm. This succulent is easy to care for and attractive! Leaves form along the sides of this plant. Very drought resistant, this succulent is also more tolerant of wet soil than other succulents and cacti! So if you overwater or underwater, this plant will stay happy! As with all Euphorbia, it contains a toxic white latex like liquid to discourage would be foragers from eating it.

This Euphorbia grows tree-like , meaning larger specimens have a central trunk with many branches closer to the top. To prevent toppling when planted in containers, it is recommended to plant in a heavy or wide pot or planter.
