This Cuphea is a classic in our gardens. It is a fun plant in that it attracts so many pollinators! Hummingbirds and butterflies come in swarms to this plant's bright orange clusters of "cigar-shaped" tubular flowers. It blooms from Spring to Fall in Zone 8. Grows from 2 ft to 4 ft on mature plants.
This Cuphea stays slightly smaller and less bushy than the Cigar Plant, however the flowers are larger and more showy. Bright red flowers are accented with a dark purple to almost black "bat-face" opening! These flowers also attract the same pollenators that the Cigar Plant attracts.
